Silver Cross supports families in need
Alongside its successful Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions, Silver Cross has gone a step further this year to help even more families affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The UK nursery brand has donated hundreds of items to charities supporting families in need, providing essential products for babies and toddlers.
To date, the brand has donated £20,000 worth of travel systems, strollers, accessories, nursery furniture and baby bedding to Baby Basics, Little Village and AberNecessities.
Danielle Flecher-Horn, AberNecessities Founder, said: “We are so thankful to Silver Cross for their support. Their generous donation of buggies will make life a great deal easier for so many families. Many parents we work with have reported feelings of extreme loneliness or social isolation because of the pandemic; these buggies are essentially game-changing items that will afford them the ability to get out for fresh air, a change of scenery, meet friends and family, de-stress and re-set.”
Cat Ross, CEO of Baby Basics, said: “Provision of a pram or pushchair is not just about keeping a baby or toddler safe while out and about, but it is the means for vulnerable parents to access their community. We are so excited to be able to provide more vulnerable families with the lifeline of a pram or pushchair thanks to the amazing support of Silver Cross.”
Sophia Parker, CEO of Little Village, added: “We are really grateful to Silver Cross for this generous donation. These buggies and accessories will help families to get out and about. This is so important as we’ve found the pandemic has led to many of the families we support feeling really isolated, with opportunities to see friends and family limited, and many services they normally attend closed.”
In a separate initiative earlier this year, Silver Cross raised £1,160 for NHS Charities Together by giving away five limited edition Vintage Balmoral coach prams – together worth £8,500 – through a “donate to win” competition.
David Abbott, Global Head of Brand for Silver Cross said: “We know lots of families have been struggling during the COVID pandemic, so we wanted to help by donating these much-needed prams and baby products. As well as offering some great Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts, we felt it was important to support these worthwhile charities. We hope our donations will help lots of families in need across the country.
