The team at plant-based family cleaning brand, Nimble, are thrilled to announce their innovative Nappy Lover detergent has won The Grocer New Product Award 2021 in the Infant Care Category.
Specifically designed for cleaning cloth nappies, the plant based, unique powder detergent was at the forefront of the prestigious awards, being celebrated for its ingenious formulation, using simple and natural ingredients, that are kind against babies delicate skin.
Following a hugely successful year for the brand (notably expanding within major supermarkets including 378 Sainsbury’s stores and 506 Tesco’s stores) the team were thrilled to see their products recognised within The Grocers highly competitive, respected New Product Awards. Winning the Infant Care Category, the brand fought off tough competition to scoop the top spot. Receiving praise for the Vegan Society registered, plant based formula, the judges were particularly impressed with not only the ethos behind Nappy Lover, but also how the simple, natural ingredients performed, even when used at lower temperatures.
Nappy Lover is certainly a hero in the Nimble product range for good reason; the genius powder formulation (which is made entirely in the UK) is completely free from skin-irritating allergens, enzymes, optical brighteners and dyes, so is ideal for using against delicate skin. Vegan friendly and cruelty free from day one, the allergen-free fragrance also keeps things fresh without the use of nasty chemicals – a true innovation for the ever-growing cloth nappy market.
Von Sy, founder of Nimble, commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised in the Grocer New Product Awards, and to win in the Infant Care Category has truly been a highlight for 2021! When we took to developing Nappy Lover, I really wanted to create a product parents could rely on, as so many families move towards living more sustainably, we knew that making the transition to cloth nappies easy would play a huge role in that. From my own experience using reusable nappies, I knew creating a specialist, gentle yet effect detergent could be the support families need – and for it to now be award-winning only confirms that!”
Wimbledon-based chemist, entrepreneur and parent, Von Sy, started out on Amazon in 2015, and went on to appear on Dragon’s Den in 2019 with his plant-based cleaning brand, Nimble.
He used his own savings to create Nimble Milk Buster, an innovative baby bottle cleaner that effectively removes milk residues by detaching milk fat and proteins from plastic. His niece’s milk bottles were getting cloudy and smelly, and regular washing-up liquids were leaving strong chemical smells and not even really working. And so Nimble was born.
The unique vegan cleaning range, which is completely safe to use around babies, was developed to create kinder cleaning products, with young families in mind. More recently, the brand has seen substantial expansion within major supermarkets including 378 Sainsbury’s stores and 506 Tesco stores as well as achieving significant international presence, with the products also available in nearly 200 stores across Taiwan, the Philippines, Czech Republic and Iraq.
