Cathy Bryan has been a stalwart of the industry for over 35 years. She has worked on many of the consumer magazines on the baby industry before concentrating on the trade press, editing Nursery Industry and Nursery Today for many years before founding Nursery Online in 2008. Since handing over control of Nursery Online to Kerry and Adeline last year, she has been concentrating on writing and developing her consumer website Buying4Baby.info.
As the editor and co-founder of the Progressive Preschool B2B media brand, Jacqui has been an instrumental part of the nursery industry for the best part of the last decade. You'll have seen her scribbling furiously in a notebook at trade shows and awards events, making sure that the latest news is always just a few keystrokes away. She also has two young children who have become adept at roadtesting the latest preschool must-haves – and don't pull their punches with reviews! Lisa has worked in PR for over 15 years, 10 of these running her own agency, bumpPR. Specialising in family brands, from 0 – 10+ years, she has experience across a multitude of platforms from classic media relations, celebrity engagement, influencer outreach and social media. Lisa has worked with many brands within the nursery category, from global leaders, to small start-ups and enjoys nothing better than adapting to meet each and every client’s individual needs.
Penny Franks, as Editor of Nursery Today magazine, has a great understanding and knowledge of the Nursery sector and has been in continual communication with manufacturers, suppliers and nursery retailers for more than 15 years. “I have an absolute passion for the nursery industry. The new product ranges and innovation that we experience year on year ensure that we, as an industry, keep one step ahead when it comes to consumer trends, while ensuring safety and safety standards are a priority across all product categories.” From her knowledge within the nursery industry, Penny is the only UK trade press judge on the coveted annual Kind + Jugend Innovation Awards panel and furthermore, is the only UK trade press member of the BCMI (Baby Care Magazines International), giving her the opportunity to liaise with other European and International Editors.
Sally J Hall is Editor of B Magazine, the luxury nationwide magazine for women who choose private maternity care (bbabymagazine.co.uk). A parenting journalist for many years, she has previously been Editor of Emma’s Diary and Bounty and creator of the Bounty Product Guide, as well as Consumer Editor for Pregnancy & Birth. She is the author of Eco Baby, A Green Guide to Parenting (Green Books), a co-author of Watch My Baby Grow (Dorling Kindersley) and is about to launch Plant Based Baby, a guide to weaning on a vegetarian or vegan diet. Sally is passionate about helping pregnant women and new parents find great products to help them with their new life as parents.
Ian Davidson is the owner of Babylicious, an independent shop and online store . He has been selling prams and nursery goods for his family business since he was 10 years old. His mum set up the business before he took it over when she went into semi-retirement. Having been in the industry for over 30 years he has seen brands, stores, press and other nursery industry initiatives come and go. He has experienced first hand some of the best innovations as a BPA judge for the past 10 years. Ian also runs the Facebook support group, ‘Nursery Trade’ with Yas Ali. Ian strongly believes in bringing the industry together for a better brighter future for all.
