Nimble founder shortlisted for award
Nimble, the leading plant-based family cleaning brand, is thrilled to announce its founder Von Sy, has been shortlisted in the 2020 Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
As both an uncle and father, Von became determined to create a cleaning range that provided truly safe and effective solutions for the home; with Nimble he has ultimately achieved this and quite rightly secured himself a nomination for the Health & Wellbeing Entrepreneur of the Year award for the London & East of England region.
The awards have recognised, celebrated and championed enterprising minds across the UK since 2013, with household names such as JustEat and LADBible being awarded in recent years. Von is shortlisted for the regional awards, and if he is successful, he will progress to the national final in November.
With 10 years’ experience as a detergent chemist at a well-known household brand, Von became passionate about finding safer, plant-based alternatives to the various harsh chemicals used in big brand cleaning products, that were more child-friendly. He created Nimble, a range that cleverly harnesses ingredients derived from coconut, corn and sugar cane to deliver effective cleaning without the need for high levels of toxic chemicals.
Milk Buster is Nimble’s hero product, a spray uniquely formulated to break down milk fats and proteins on baby bottles. The range also includes Sticky Stopper, a highly versatile, bleach-free antibacterial cleaning spray, as well as Laundry Lover, a detergent that is tough on stains, while super gentle on sensitive skin.
Following a successful appearance in the infamous BBC’s Dragons’ Den earlier this year, this is another great achievement for the dedicated entrepreneur.
Speaking about his nomination, Von says:
“Becoming an uncle and soon after, a father, made me determined that an effective, yet safe cleaning brand was what the market was missing. I had the knowledge and an entrepreneurial drive to innovate, Nimble was the result! Life as an entrepreneur is very challenging, and there can be a lot of ‘downs’ before you see the ‘ups’. Being shortlisted for this award is certainly a huge ‘up’ and I’m thrilled to be recognised”.
The regional awards ceremony will take place online due to the current pandemic on 23rd September, and the regional winners will go onto a national final held in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel in November, to mark the end of the 2020 Global Entrepreneurship Week.
