Recent research completed by breastfeeding brand, Medela, has revealed that 89% of women felt they never got to the end of their to-do list whilst 94% admitted they struggle to find time for themselves.

The survey, completed by nearly 2000 women, showed just how challenging it is to find time for self-care and relaxation as a busy new parent.

Life as a new parent can be busy and demanding – finding time for relaxation are key for supporting not only mum’s mental wellbeing, but also getting the most out of their breastfeeding or pumping experience.

‘The impact of stress and anxiety on the lactation process is well-known. Research has even show that at times of stress, the high levels of cortisol (stress hormones) can interrupt and even stop milk flow.’ says one Medela expert.

Medela’s new campaign, #milkinthemoment, encourages mums to share their moment of calm or selfcare and perhaps a tip or two with fellow parents – and is already gaining support from influencers and the online community.
