MadeForMums 2021 award winners are announced
2020 was the year of going online and getting outside – so it’s no surprise that award-winning products include online antenatal courses from The Maternity Collective and the Noordi Fjordi travel system, enabling families to enjoy the great outdoors whatever the weather – while Micro Scooters and The Bike Club rental service encouraged children to come off their screens and get moving. A growing awareness of sustainability was also evident in products such as Mama Bamboo eco nappies and MAM Feel Good Glass Bottles, designed to be longer-lasting and reduce landfill and waste.
MadeforMums delivers more than 2,000 professional reviews and even more parent reviews to help parents make confident choices. This year’s MadeForMums Awards saw over 1000 products go through a rigorous judging process, involving a panel of expert judges and at-home trialling by 600 family testers. The winning products are chosen based on a range of criteria including ease of use, effectiveness and value for money. They include the best parenting products across 99 categories covering everything from buggies, slings and travel systems, to nappies, pregnancy essentials and bedside cots.

Editorial Director of MadeForMums, Susie Boone, said: “Family habits and priorities have changed during the past tumultuous year. We’ve seen a real focus on sustainability and a rediscovery of the natural world that’s on our doorsteps including the simple pleasures of family walks. It’s fantastic to see this reflected in our award-winning parenting products this year, from a transforming high chair that lasts over 10 years, to scooters and coats made from recycled plastic waste. The innovation and imagination involved in parenting product design is incredible.”
With so many of us keen to get outside and explore the local area, this year’s award-nominated pushchairs were certainly put through their paces. All entrants were tested with babies and toddlers of the right age, meaning doubles and convertibles were tested in all their configurations, carrycots and seat units were tried with babies and toddlers for single buggies, and all parts of a travel system, from car seat to toddler seat, were thoroughly tested by MadeForMums’ panel of parents.
In choosing the winners, MadeForMums combined feedback from their panel of home testers with their own industry knowledge and expertise, looking at all the little details that make one pushchair stand out from the rest – ingenious storage, an ergonomic handle, an easy-to-operate brake, a true compact fold or a bumper pack of accessories.
