Joie Raises the Safety Game with Elevate R129
As the most up to date safety standard is now R129, the brand has made the decision to update its range of seats to bring them in line with the new standard – and the latest to the party is none other than elevateTM R129.
The R129 standard offers upgraded improvements in the way seats are tested – including side impact testing as standard as well as using the latest crash test dummies with increased sensors that more accurately represent the effects of a crash on a child’s body.
Gradually the ECE R44 standard will start to make its way out of the market and eventually all seats sold will be made to the new R129 standard. But don’t panic – if parents’ current seat is R44, it is still safe, but if they are starting to think about upgrading then the R129 certification is definitely the one to go for.
ElevateTM R129 is a great option for parents looking for a high-backed booster for their growing traveller. Suitable from 76cm – 150 cm (that’s approximately 15 months to 12 years), it has a well-marked, coloured installation path and dual lock offs making it easy to install with a vehicle’s 3-point seat belt. From 76 cm to 105 cm (about 15 months to 3.5 years) elevateTM R129 has a soft padded harness to keep little ones comfortable and safe, and from 100-150 cm (about 3.5-12 years) simply move them to the vehicles seat belt.
ElevateTM R129 is also i-Size certified when in the belted booster mode and has a handy GrowTogetherTMheadrest and harness that adjust simultaneously – so no fiddly rethreading needed.
Comfort is key with elevateTM R129 – ideal for the summer months, it has ventilated sides as well as a plush, memory foam seat pad so those longer journeys will be a breeze. And in case of those messy mishaps, elevateTM R129 has removable, machine washable covers – phew!
