Worcestershire-based JMDA Design has announced its innovative car seats have appeared in TIME’s 100 Best Inventions of 2020.

Every year, TIME highlights inventions that are making the world better and smarter, with a judging panel of industry experts, editors and correspondents around the world.

The multi award-winning product hifold, was designed by JMDA Design working with the team at mifold, features in TIME’s 100 Best Inventions of 2020 with a design that encompasses effectiveness, creativity with real-life practicality.

The hifold fit-and-fold booster seat which was designed by JMDA has already won awards for innovative design, including the International Design Award (IDA) Gold Winner in 2018 and a German Design Award 2020. Working with JMDA to design hifold, the dynamic Israel based company Carfoldio radically challenges the established format of highback boosters with its compact design.

Derrick Barker, Founder and Director at JMDA Design explains, “We are absolutely thrilled that the hifold child car seat booster has been recognised as a top 100 best invention of 2020 by TIME. Working with Jon Sumroy, CEO at mifold, we have helped develop a cutting-edge product that provides a practical solution for parents and childcare providers worldwide”.

Derrick adds, “A lot of innovation went into the design of the hifold but the core driver is always safety. There were many design challenges we faced and had to overcome with the team at mifold, working together we developed the compact and foldable hifold design to meet safety regulations, bringing a unique concept to reality. Our ongoing relationship with mifold to produce innovative child car seat designs continues to go from strength to strength”.
