Established over 50 years ago, premium Italian pushchair brand, Inglesina, is committed to providing products and solutions that ensure the best of the best in travel systems, prams, strollers and accessories for parents and babies across the globe.

We caught up with UK Director Jonathan Feingold to find out more….

Why should retailers stock Inglesina and how do you support independent retailers who want to stock your products?

“We make beautiful, high-quality products locally in Vicenza, Italy. We’re at the cutting edge of fashion, with advanced technology and functionality.

When retailers apply to become a stockist, we like to know that our brand is the best fit for you and your store, so that you can get the most out of our products and for that reason,  we carefully select retailers to work with. We want to ensure you have the right place to sell premium luxury products, enough space to display the prams, are dedicated to selling quality products, and have time to explain the product to prospective customers. To that end, we ensure you receive full training on products and we support sales by driving customers to stores with our promotional and social media campaigns.

Inglesina has a fantastic potential margin for any retailer, with all products shipped straight from Italy within a maximum of 3 weeks. Plus, our carefully managed online policy ensures that the brand is well presented across all stockists.

At Inglesina, we say that ‘there is a story inside’. This is because so many of the amazing features of our products aren’t visible to anyone simply browsing the store. That’s why we provide a thorough training programme for every member of staff on the essential specialities of Inglesina. We’ve found that once their full capabilities are explained to customers, our prams fly off the shelves.”

What’s Inglesina’s best-selling product – and why?

“Our best-selling products are our System Quattro’s – a carrycot, car seat and stroller, all wrapped up in one stylish travel system. Of these, the award-winning Aptica XT has proven most popular. The all-terrain stroller has a special Adaptive Cruise feature, allowing it to go off-road. It has all the benefits of a city stroller, plus so much more – like having a Range Rover but for your child! It’s certainly taken both the UK and global markets by storm since release.”

When it comes to prams, strollers and travel systems, today’s parents are more discerning than ever – how do Inglesina stay in line with current fashions and trends?

“Our brand originates in Italy, the home of good style. Our couture team, led by our experienced head designer, is continually developing prams at the forefront of fashion, having worked with leading designers such as Vespa, Fendi and Baby Dior. We offer high-end prams at a far more affordable price than designer labels, without skimping on quality. Just take the new Electa, for example – the sleek new design has taken strides in stylism that are much more suited to the UK market.”

The pram/stroller market is a crowded one; what sets Inglesina apart?

“We make beautifully-made, luxury products in our factory in Italy – from the metals and plastics right down to the sewing and final touches. These are then shipped straight from the factory to the stockists; this not only saves energy and helps the environment – but also eases concerns about logistics delays, which of course everyone is worried about in the run-up to Christmas.

We’re a global brand with hugely successful offices in the USA, Russia, China and the UK , while our service department in Essex can supply advice and spare parts, should it be needed. Inglesina’s products are not only surprisingly more affordable than some of the leading brands made in China, but they are also advanced in design, and amazing quality. Throughout the rest of Europe, they’re so well-loved that they’re handed down through generations!”

Can you share any specific plans or developments for the year ahead?

“We’re very excited to launch our new Electa at the Harrogate International Nursery Fair this weekend! It’s the pram every customer has been looking for – a full-sized, functional travel system that folds down like a compact stroller – and weighs the same as one too!

Aside from that, we’ve been putting a lot of investment into secret developments, particularly in car safety. I can’t say much more on that, but we’ve got something very exciting coming next year.”
