Didofy was first launched with the aim of removing any unwanted stroller stress for parents and grandparents. We caught up with co-founder, Josephine Votsis, to find out more the brand’s history – and its newly launched stroller, the Stargazer.
As parents ourselves, we understand the problems faced when folding a buggy or stroller, so we made it our mission to make a more stress-free stroller for families like ours. At the same time, we wanted to offer a premium product with an affordable price tag. Our brand ethos has remained the same as our company has grown; keeping family at the heart of everything we do. Innovation, sustainability and quality are the other key values which we use to continue to build our brand on.
How did the design for the new Stargazer stroller come about and who is it aimed for?
We wanted to offer parents a fully-fledged, high quality, practical travel system without breaking the bank with an RRP of £799. Taking into consideration the current climate, we also made the decision to opt for a more sustainable product, as well as one that continued didofy’s dedication to easy-fold pushchairs.
We have aimed the Stargazer at parents who want all of the features of a travel system at an affordable price. The 11-piece bundle is built for off-road adventures, overnight sleeping, and a more eco-conscious lifestyle.
Sustainability is a core factor of the new Stargazer stroller; how have you achieved that?
Sustainability of the Stargazer has been achieved by exclusively using recycled PET bottles for its quality woven fabrics. There are around 92 bottles in each stroller, 73 per carrycot, and more can also be found in the fabrics of the Stargazer car seat. This hasn’t compromised any of its premium quality which our customers have come to expect from us. In fact, we’ve had great feedback from parents who couldn’t even tell the materials were recycled!
Today’s parents are more discerning than ever; how does didofy stay in line with current fashions and trends (please mention the new Stargazer)?
Our bestselling products, such as the Aster 2 and Stargazer, are available in popular, modern colourways; black, green and grey. A particular favourite amongst didofy customers is the olive Aster 2 pushchair, which boasts a sleek bronze anodised frame. The Stargazer, meanwhile, has fashionable colourways and a gunmetal frame befitting even the most stylish parent. As part of the 11-piece bundle, parents can also enjoy a modernised take on the changing bag without sacrificing storage or practicality.
didofy has strollers to suit a wide range of budgets; what are the key differences from the top to the bottom end?
Particularly with our new Stargazer, we strive to offer something for everyone. That’s why customers can either purchase the full £799 Stargazer, which includes a number of accessories for free, or buy the products separately at low individual costs. This way, if parents can only afford the stroller, they can spend £425 on just that product alone instead of the full £799.
This new travel system is a more budget-friendly option, whereas the more top end Lotus offers additional premium features, such as a built-in phone charger and auto-fold. Similarly to the Stargazer, our award-winning compact stroller, Aster 2, also has optional extras for varying budgets, including a carrycot and stroller bag.
How can retailers become didofy stockists – and how do you support or train independent retailers who wish to stock your products?
