Distributor Corporation UK Limited (DCUK) has announced that from November 17th, it has transitioned from a distribution relationship with UPPAbaby to being an UPPAbaby corporate entity.

DCUK Ltd will be rebranded as UPPAbaby UK and Jeff Stock will continue to lead the business. Richard Bamforth will also continue in his role as Director of Sales and other day-to-day contacts will remain the same.

Based in Halifax, UK , DCUK Ltd built its name for sourcing and distributing high quality nursery products and is well known for its pushchair, highchair, toy and feeding brands in the national, multiple and independent retail sectors. It has worked to build the UPPAbaby brand over the last 12 years.

Nursery Online caught up with Richard Bamforth to find out more about UPPAbaby’s history:

“Founded in the USA in 2006 by Bob and Lauren Monahan, UPPAbaby was launched in the UK at the Harrogate show in 2010 through a distribution agreement with DCUK Ltd. Over the last twelve years, UPPAbaby has become firmly established in the UK market and is now sold worldwide. Our aim is to provide the best products and support for families and retailers who put their trust in us.”

What does DCUK’s new status as an UPPAbaby corporate entity mean in terms of distribution and your relationship with retailers?

“The UK business was founded on independent retailers and we still value the trust they put in the emerging UPPAbaby brand when we started.  Our relationship with retailers will not change, only our name, and you will still hear familiar voices on the end of the phone.  We do however have some ambitious plans for the future and I look forward to expanding the team to support our growth.”

What are UPPABaby’s most popular products?

“We launched the brand in the UK with one product, the VISTA, which is still our most popular stroller.”
