CYBEX releases new shield seat
CYBEX, the global baby brand known for its car seats, pushchairs and baby carriers, has launched a brand new i-Size impact shield car seat, designed to provide over 10 years of safety.
Suitable from over 15 months (a minimum of 76cm) to approximately 12 years (up to 150cm or 50kg,) the 2-in-1 car seat grows with a child to provide support, protection and comfort at each stage of their development.
Tested to the UN R129/03 latest standard, the Pallas G i-SIZE is a new addition to the CYBEX gold range and is packed full of safety and functionality. The top three features include:
More than 10 years of usability – the child is protected by an impact shield until they grow to 21kg (at least 105cm tall). The impact shield is then removed, and the seat is secured by the vehicle seatbelt until they reach approximately 12 years old.
Over 40% less strain on the neck (1) – the impact shield helps reduce the risk of neck injuries in a frontal collision when compared to a harness system. In a head-on collision, the child rolls forward over the impact shield which acts in a similar way to an airbag, with impact force distributed across its large surface area.
Secures a child safely in seconds – the integrated adjustable impact shield secures the child easily, quickly and reliably, with research showing that impact shields have a significantly lower error rate than harness systems (2).
Featuring a convenient buckle system, there’s no need for parents to lean over or struggle with a seatbelt.
Luke Burns, UK & Ireland GM at CYBEX, says: “The R&D team has been working extremely hard this year to create the Pallas G i-SIZE – a car seat that we believe will enhance child safety even further. Sometimes there are reasons that require toddlers to be switched to a forward-facing car seat before being in a group 2/3 seat. In these cases, the Pallas G i-SIZE is the ideal solution as it offers freedom of choice with high safety features thanks to the adjustable impact shield – a reliable and safe alternative that offers a high degree of protection without confining the child.”
This brand-new car seat comes equipped with additional safety features including:
ISOFIX and top tether installation to ensure the seat is easily and securely installed. The added top tether provides additional anchorage for increased safety and stability. Both feature visual indicators confirm that the car seat is installed and ready to go.
A patented three-position reclining headrest prevents a child’s head from tipping forward while sleeping.
Linear Side-impact Protection System (L.S.P) reduces the forces of an impact from a side-impact collision by approximately 25%.
The Pallas G i-SIZE has an Air Ventilation System offering cooling airflow, and a one-hand seat recline making it easier for parents to recline the seat to a comfortable sleeping position. The Pallas G i-SIZE comes in eight colours and will be available at retailers nationwide from January 2021. RRP – £264.95.
