Chester-based eco-friendly baby care brand Pura has announced its arrival in three major high street stores as well as the appointment of former chief executive of Nichols PLC (Vimto) as Chair of the Board.

Pura’s 100 per cent plastic-free wipes and eco-friendly nappies are now available to buy across hundreds of new Tesco, SPAR and Boots stores.  The launch follows the business’ announcement of launching its baby products in Superdrug online.

Founded by parents Guy and Abi Fennel, Pura launched in 2020 moved from an online-only business to expansion into the supermarket sector. The brand has experienced rapid growth, accelerated earlier this year with £4.25m worth of funding by Maven Capital Partners. 

Pura has also appointed Dr Marnie Millard OBE, has its new Chair. Millard headed up Nichols PLC from 2013-2020, is a former President of the British Soft Drinks Association, Chair of the Board at Marks Electrical Group plc; UA92 (University Academy ’92), and Kidly. She is also Non-Executive Director at Belvoir Farm Ltd and at Finsbury Food Group.

Marnie – who was awarded an OBE in 2018 in recognition of her contribution to business – will take up the post immediately, working closely with Pura CEO Guy Fennell and his experienced leadership team.
