Counting British royalty among its customers, My 1st Years has opened its first physical store at Manchester’s Trafford Centre, where baby gifts and childrenswear can be purchased and personalised ‘while you wait’.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the ‘shiny new concession’, complete with in-store stitching machine, is located inside Selfridges and will be a popular option for gift buyers looking for baby products adorned with personalised stitching.

From jackets and dungarees, dressing gowns, soft toys, dolls and blankets, My 1st Years is also known for its baby gift sets, where buyers can choose to add names and dates of birth stitched on to products such as cellular cot blankets.

All products are priced to include personalisation.

For those choosing items for expectant parents, the shop also offers the option of bringing the newborn gift items back to have the birth date added once baby has arrived. Matching items for siblings can have the words “Big Sister/Brother, Little Sister/Brother” added.

Prices start at £22 for comforter blankets with toy and the age range for clothing in store is from newborn up to 4-5 year old sizes, although a wider age range is available to purchase online. However all orders purchased in store have to be collected in store with no delivery available.

The shop has already had a busy start after opening at the start of this month, and next week their full Christmas range also lands on the shelves. That will include My 1st Years’ popular range of personalised Christmas stockings and sacks, and festive-themed dressing gowns.

British-made brand, My 1st Years, was founded in 2009 by entrepreneurs, Dan Price and Jonny Sitton after the pair searched in vain for a timeless yet original gift for a friend’s baby, that was both personal and affordable.
