Je Porte Mon Bébé is now Love Radius

On January 2nd, Je Porte Mon Bébé became Love Radius by JPMBB. But only the name has changed! Our baby carriers, our expertise, the quality and our team remain unchanged.

  • Because unless you’re French, "Je Porte Mon Bébé" was hard to pronounce.
  • Because our mission is to offer safe proximity with the loved ones + free hands = it sums up as the Love Radius.
  • Because the words Love + Radius represent more accurately the indisputable fact that babywearing enhances physiological processes during the first weeks (hormomes, thermal regulation…)
  • It is precisely because we are proud to be a successful French SME that we plan to be even more relevant internationally.

Our goal is to help parents to connect with their babies and have more independence in their lives as young parents.

Love Radius will help our International development, will give a better Brand recognition around the world and it is an amazing opportunity to communicate over our BabyCarriers.

We won many awards like the DadsNet Awards, Mums Awards 2018 and work with many retailers like JoJo Maman Bébé, Galeries Lafayette, Dreamland, Sonnenkind, Aio Baby, Orchestra, etc…We leave our comfort zone, we grow up and we fight. We are happy, lucky and proud to be here 13 years after our unplanned debut. We will do what it takes to still be here in another 13 years.

BabyCool 2019 cancelled

BabyCool regret to inform you that the 2019 edition of Babycool Paris will not take place.

During the past three months, we have striven to continue this project in which we have invested all our know-how on a daily basis. We were ready to make it evolve taking into account your many suggestions such as moving the show to October 2019, after Kind + Jugend. Unfortunately, some difficulties recently encountered convinced us not to continue the adventure.

Suppliers are starting to create their own showrooms and their own events; distributors prepare trade shows dedicated solely to their brands; phenomena that are gaining momentum and jeopardizing the survival of a trade show.

We have decided to dedicate our energy to the creation of B2C projects and the team is currently working on developing a family-oriented consumer fair, where all professionals working in the baby and early childhood sector will have their place. Scheduled for 2020, this event will include exhibition booths, discovery workshops, didactic activities, conferences and much more.

We will come back to you with details very soon. In the meantime, we thank all those who have trusted the BABYCOOL PARIS team since its inception.

HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair 7-10 January 2019

Arriving at the Hong Kong convention and exhibition centre from the UK is always a long journey so what is it like?

It’s a major part of a very busy show with thousands of visitors from every continent including Asia, the Middle East and South America and, not forgetting, all of Europe. It has a separate exhibition for toys and stationary products that is all so very well attended. The convention centre is spread over five levels and the baby products could be found on three main areas – from the basement through the first floor mezzanine to the various galleries and the third floor international zone.

On show was an immense amount of pushchairs, carseats, bedding, highchairs, cribs and every type of possible accessory imaginable (and even some unthinkable ones!) from all four corners of the world including carseats from Turkey, France and many many from China, strollers from many countries including a number of famous brands.

Most companies exhibited in oblong booths, pre-made in ten foot sections. Large, elaborate booths like you see in Kind+Jugend were very few and far between. The show also has very little in the way of a discernible pattern of display. There were pavilions from several countries such as Korea and Taiwan but very surprisingly there was no British pavilion. Some UK companies did exhibit although not collectively and I noticed fittingly EastCoast from the UK showing and selling, bringing its very British essence to the old British colonial essence of Hong Kong.

Many of the items on display were almost indistinguishable from each other and it was clear certain areas in China produce almost identical products that only the most discerning could differentiate. So many, one after another, of compact folding strollers, all with pull-out travel handles so you could pull it along when not in use .Personally have never got my head around this feature as I can not see the need. Why would you want to push the stroller without a child, has it not got a handle already?

I could not see any particular innovations but lots of very nice products that would be at home in any shop were everywhere. Trends were very apparent. Every single (and there where a great number of) highchair maker had a variation of a “Charles Ames” derived design sporting a plastic white seat body and tray and solid hard wood legs. After a while it became comical as the prices offered were identical as well!

Victors to this show ranged from the independent vertical retailers filling their warehouses for online sales to the traditional importers, distributors and retailers as well as the famous brands’ personnel all channelling through the narrow corridors and funnelling around up and down the 24 escalators and lifts ferrying the mass of global humanity around this citrus shaped building.

On the fourth day at about 11 am, almost the entire pregnant population of Hong Kong arrived to buy all the sample product they could for their own use. So now in place of all the people in line, furring the lines were pregnant ladies and their families, barging for every item and, if you did not hold on to what you were looking at or having discussions about, it was wushed away. I suppose they don’t have space or time for public baby shows [B2C] in Hong Kong so it was grab what you can!
